Don’t Panic! AI Is Remarkable In Battling Covid-19

The world is facing its biggest health crisis in decades, and artificial intelligence is playing a role in predicting the spread of a novel coronavirus and driving the development of robots that can replace humans on hospital wards. As technology advances, AI is getting better at doing what humans do and solving complex problems. The power of AI in COVID-19 is that it is used to generate actionable information much faster than before, which would be impossible without it. Sources: 12, 16

With so much data generated about coronaviruses every day, AI algorithms can help generate bits that can provide relevant information about the spread of the virus. Artificial intelligence, better known as A.I., can warn us of impending epidemics and give us ample time to prepare. It is difficult to predict the impact of an outbreak of a new disease, such as Ebola or Zika virus, but AI can help us track and anticipate such situations and provide us with the data needed to move forward. However, health workers and the government have not found a solution and have been stuck at roadblocks. Therefore, any innovation in AI technology that could be the result of the current crisis may require rapid progress in establishing appropriate mechanisms to govern AI.
